We spent the July 4th weekend at Marblehead and
Put-In Bay along Ohio's Lake Erie
shore. We got a late start on the 4th and virtually lost a day due to
severe thunder storms in the area. We immediately started planning
indoor activities for the remainder of the stay.
Despite clouds and light rain on Saturday
morning, we took the ferry to South Bass Island, also known as Put-In Bay.
It turned out to be perfect weather. Good thing, too, the primary
transportation on the island is golf carts. We stopped by Commander Perry's
monument and DeRivera Park in the
heart of downtown.
We stayed at the
South Beach Resort and enjoyed our
in-room Jacuzzi (couldn't get the babies out), swimming, and a jet boat
(couldn't get Michael and Beth out).
